The Whisp Adventure
From a simple idea in 2023 to a scalable chat infrastructure tested for security, performance, and reliability — Whisp’s journey is just beginning. Here’s how we got here, and where we’re heading next.
Early 2023
The Spark of an Idea
The concept for Whisp emerged in 2023, born from the recognition that many companies struggle with building scalable, secure chat infrastructure in-house.
2023–2025
Laying the Foundation
Over the next two years, Whisp’s architecture was developed with a focus on scalability and robustness. From the start, the design prioritized performance, fault tolerance, and security. During this phase, I also consulted with senior software architects and domain experts to review and refine the infrastructure.
2025 Q1
MVP Complete
In early 2025, Whisp reached a major milestone: the MVP was completed. But this wasn’t just a minimal proof of concept — it included not only core chat features but also full scalability and security testing: 1) Core chat functionality was implemented (see “getting-started”). 2) Load tests were run to validate performance under scale. 3) Extensive security audits were performed. Whisp’s MVP is unique in that it doesn’t just prove “chat works” — it proves that the promises around robustness and security are already built in.
2025 Q2
Incubator & Funding Milestones
Following the MVP’s completion, Whisp was accepted into an incubator program, and I secured first-stage funding via the Gründungsstipendium NRW (grant support in North Rhine-Westphalia). Additionally, Whisp was accepted into the Summit in Siegen (another regional startup incubator) to present the project, gain exposure, and connect with the local ecosystem.
Mid 2025
Demo Chat App Built
To make the capabilities even more tangible, a demo chat app was built in mid-2025. This app showcases real-world use cases of Whisp’s features in action, serving as a hands-on demo for prospective customers and partners.
Present
Growth and Pilot Phase
The next steps are focused on scaling: expanding the team, onboarding venture capital, and recruiting initial pilot customers to stress-test the system in production settings.
Future Vision
Europe’s Leading Chat Infrastructure
Looking forward, Whisp’s goal is ambitious but clear: to become the largest and most trusted provider of chat infrastructure as a service across Europe. We will continue innovating, expanding features, and delivering highest-in-class performance, reliability and developer experience.
